Walker packed for his Monday morning Munich flight by noon Sunday. It was summer. He’d gone for a run then lay down for an afternoon nap. He fell deeply asleep, awakening with a start, looking at his watch. “Shit! Six o’clock! I’m late!” He raced south then east on I-70. He noticed RVs and trucks towing boats, odd for this early on a weekday. He didn’t notice the sun was behind him until he was halfway to the Denver airport. He shouted and laughed when it hit him. He looked at the weekend drivers to see who noticed, then drove home.
